Position Responsibilities | We are seeking a permanent full-time Librarian to join our Student Success team. At Red Deer Polytechnic, Librarians collaborate with other faculty to develop and deliver information literacy classes. You will support and help develop curriculum by integrating information literacy into program and course learning outcomes. The incumbent will keep current on research around learning, pedagogy, and emerging technologies that can be used in various delivery modes (in a classroom, at a service desk, or virtually). Librarians support the research goals and needs of both students and faculty, providing library services via an integrated service model, whereby all library staff have the necessary skills to facilitate access to services, direct enquiries appropriately, and to aid students and other library patrons in their learning. Librarians serve as the first point of contact for faculty, providing guidance on topics such as copyright, Open Educational Resources (OER), academic integrity, scholarly publishing, and open access. Working collaboratively with faculty and staff, Librarians also develop, maintain, and promote the library collection. As faculty themselves, Librarians will have the opportunity to contribute to the larger Polytechnic community and engage in professional development. |
