Position Responsibilities
The School of Education and Trades is seeking multiple part-time Early Childhood Education (ECE) Leadership Development Facilitators in the Early Childhood Education Leadership Development Certificate Program for the 2023- 2024 academic year. The facilitator will:

  • Facilitate a Community of Practice with early childhood educators’ work experiences by initiating group discussion, providing verbal feedback, and supporting a peer network. The Community of Practice will meet virtually 1.5 hours per week with anticipated meeting times between 4:00-5:20 pm Wednesdays (negotiable with students/faculty)
  • Assess evidence of workplace learning on Blackboard (RDP’s Learning Management System) each week following the Community of Practice discussions
  • Meet virtually with students individually for a total of 3 hours per student for each course to provide mentoring. Meetings will be scheduled at mutually agreed-upon times and may take place during or outside regular work hours. Students will be responsible for setting the meetings, agenda, and frequency based on their individual needs in relation to the course content
  • Complete an overall assessment and provide feedback for each student at the end of each course

The ECE instructional team is part of a growing and learner-centered community who enable learners to develop a foundation of knowledge and skills for meaningful engagement in their communities. Required Qualifications
  • Significant work experience as a leader in the Early Learning and Child Care field
  • An ELCC Diploma, or a Degree in a related field (preference given to the Degree)
  • Effective group facilitation skills
  • Inter-personal communication skills, empathy, one-on-one coaching ability
  • Experience in one or more areas:
    • Social Justice, Advocacy, and Ethics
    • Leadership, Human Resources, and Financial Management
    • Community Partnerships, ELCC Curriculum, and Pedagogical Leadership
Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field
  • Post-Secondary teaching experience
  • Experience teaching/mentoring adults would be an asset
  • Familiarity using Blackboard (Learning Management System) for course instruction
  • Experience and training related to teaching adult English language learners
  • Experience providing guidance and/or mentorship to peers or colleagues in an early learning setting

Salary Commensurate with education and experience
Benefits and Compensation Information
Part-time instructors receive an additional 14% of the gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
