Position Responsibilities
The School of Trades and Technology is actively seeking a talented Mechanical Engineering Technologist/Technologists to take on the pivotal role of reviewing and developing curriculum and labs within our institution. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in shaping our educational programs to meet the evolving needs of industry. To facilitate your success, we are committed to providing curriculum development resources and other experts in the area of course development.

Areas for Program Curriculum Development

Developers may be asked for input in all areas of the program the specific courses/topics for review and development are as follows:
  • Material Science
  • Fabrication and Manufacturing
  • Fluid Mechanics
  • Engineering CAD
  • Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer
  • Dynamics
  • Strength of Materials
  • Robotics and Automation
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Mechanical Design
  • CNC Manufacturing
  • Reliability and Failure Analysis
  • Computer Integrated Manufacturing
  • Building Systems

We understand the importance of flexibility and work-life balance, therefore, a significant portion of the development work can be carried out remotely with flexible hours. While some on-campus presence may be required for collaboration and hands-on aspects, this role offers a unique blend of autonomy and teamwork.

Required Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist
  • Certified Engineering Technologist
  • 5 Years post-graduation work Experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering Technologist P. Tech or Professional Licensee Engineer (P.L.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10 plus years post-graduation experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist
  • Experience writing and developing curriculum and or technical procedures.

Salary Commensurate with education and experience
Benefits and Compensation Information
Part-time instructors receive an additional 14% of the gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
