Position Title Recreation Attendant
Position Summary
The Recreation Attendant delivers Intramural, League and Recreation Activities and other Community Recreation programs as directed by supervisor.

This position is responsible for overseeing activities and the safety of all participants during events. The Recreation Attendant will provide activity and event support for recreation programs.
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Recreation Attendant:
  • Conducts sport programs in a professional and organized manner.
  • Provides game play rosters and reporting as necessary. 
  • Provides timeclock and score keeping when needed.
  • Completes pre and post event set up and take down as needed.
  • Leads the implementation and execution of Intramural Sports programming including event set up, oversight and execution.
  • Performs other similar duties as required.
  • Oversees games and conducts games and self in a manner that helps create a positive experience for all involved.

Health & Safety:
  • Responsible for filing, damaged equipment tracking and other related administrative tasks.
  • Ensures safety of all participants and assume responsibility for the Health and Safety of all participants through their awareness, proactivity, and response to a wide variety of situations in the Centre as per Red Deer Polytechnic Emergency Response Plan.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices by completing workplace inspections, participating in facility fire and emergency evacuation drills, and ensuring safe work practices at the Centre as per Red Deer Polytechnic Emergency Response Plan.
  • Activate emergency procedures as needed or directed by their supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent to about 12 years of schooling.
  • Experience in customer service is an asset with interest and some knowledge in sport.
  • Knowledge of RDP environment and sports is preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable about the rules and regulation of the sport.
  • Acts responsibly, fairly, and professionally in referee duties.
  • Familiar with rules and regulations of the sport you are officiating.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 to 12 months experience in related field.
Salary or Hourly? Hourly
Salary $17.98 per hour
Benefits and Compensation Information
An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.
