The Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) School of Arts and Education is seeking a versatile Animation and Visual Effects Instructor to teach courses in Post-Production—primarily Lighting and Compositing—for a full-time, 8.5 month sessional position starting on August 14th, 2024.

Ability to teach in other areas of the program will be considered an asset.

The AVFX Program has a reputation for producing students who are well-prepared for freelance or entry-level roles in professional studio environments, and we are looking for a candidate to contribute to this tradition of excellence.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of current trends, workflows, and approaches related to the 3D Animation and Visual Effects production pipeline and demonstrate proficiency in and an ability to teach methods, techniques, technologies, and the tools of post-production in a hands-on learning environment.

There is paid time off due to Institution closures between Christmas and New Year general holidays.

This position also offers an additional 8% of the regular salary in lieu of vacation.
